    Pine Tree Grinding

Have you recently removed a pine tree from your property, but are left with an unsightly stump? Stump removal is the second half of tree removal projects, and is ultimately up to the owner’s preference. When it comes to removing your pine tree stump, there are a few options in terms of methodology. Using a stump grinder is the easiest and quickest way to remove your pine tree stump, and it will leave you with a pile of fresh wood chips to repurpose in your landscaping.

As the least labour-intensive way to remove a tree stump, a stump grinder is a piece of heavy machinery that simply grinds your stump down into a pile of fresh wood chips or shreds. You can either call in a professional service, like us here at Dynamic Arborist, or can rent a grinder yourself and get your hands a little dirty for the afternoon.

Professional arborists and stump grinding services have access to higher-quality equipment and training than you would at a rental facility or hardware store. The professional service will also leave you with a pile of wood shavings/mulch that you can either have hauled off of your property or repurposed for filling flower beds in your garden.

The alternative is to rent your own stump grinder from a local hardware store in Melbourne. This may be cheaper than hiring a professional, and could be economical if you have multiple stumps to remove. However, the equipment may not be high-enough quality to get the job done, or may not be cost-effective if you only have one pine tree stump to grind down.

It is also possible to remove your pine tree stump with a chainsaw if you have one already, but this does come with its own set of drawbacks. Using your chainsaw in the dirt will dull your chain or could even cause permanent damage to your saw. If you choose to use your own chainsaw, you will need to dig around the stump so that you can cut it below grade. You will then cut criss-crossed slices across the surface of the stump until you have ground the stump down at least ten centimetres below the dirt.
