As they decompose, they will add more nutrients to the soil and improve soil health and balance. 

When spreading mulch across your flowerbeds, you will need to lay it down approximately seven to ten centimetres thick. Take this into consideration when you are ordering or purchasing ground cover for your landscape project. Adding more will help reduce the likelihood of weeds germinating, but too much mulch could hinder the soil from soaking up enough water.
